Virus and Bacteria Filters
Medela offers a vast portfolio of disposable filters that are seamlessly compatible with all Medela professional vacuum pumps but also with wall suction. They enable you to custom-configure your suction system to suit a variety of hygienic requirements.
- Bacteria filters provide the first, fundamental level of hygienic protection. A basic requirement if your system does not include an embedded bacterial filter.
- Overflow filters offer an essential safety mechanism to prevent fluids from entering the pump or central vacuum system. Two redundant overflow mechanisms should be present in any aspiration system.
- Odour membranes effectively trap gases and odours, especially useful in containers used over multiple hours.
- To ensure safety for patients and hospital staff, the pump filter exchange frequency should be performed according to the instructions for use and in-line with applicable local infection control policy.
- Filtering capacity (Bacteria filter) 99.985% for particles larger than 0.3 μm.
- Filtering capacity (Virus filter) 99.99984% for particles larger than 0.03 μm.
